The Environmental Department currently consists of nine officials. We work with supervision according to the Environmental Code, the Food Act, the Tobacco and Alcohol Act, among others. The unit also includes the environmental strategic function. The advertised position concerns supervision according to the Environmental Code in the areas of environmental and health protection.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As an environmental inspector with us, you will have a varied and meaningful job focused on environmental protection supervision. You will work with supervision in agriculture, plant nutrients, horse farms, and C and U operations. The role also includes parts of health protection supervision, such as handling complaints from citizens and operators, as well as activities within the health protection area.

The position as an environmental inspector means independently planning, executing, and following up supervision according to the Environmental Code. In this role, you are responsible for supervision, advice, and development work within environmental protection and health protection in your areas of responsibility.

You provide information and advice to our citizens and businesses. You draft service letters and decision-making documents and make independent decisions by delegation. You actively participate in internal and external networks within your areas of responsibility and represent the municipality in various collaborative forms. Through your communicative ability and service-oriented attitude, you create good and professional meetings with citizens and businesses in your authority. You will have the opportunity to influence and develop working methods within an organization with close collaboration in the team and short decision-making paths.

The work requires independence, flexibility, and a sense of responsibility, as well as a good ability to communicate clearly and trustworthily, both verbally and in writing. In addition to formal competence and experience, great importance will be placed on personal suitability.

QUALIFICATIONS

You are driven to develop working methods that strengthen citizens' and businesses' experience of a fair, clear, and accessible authority. This includes the ability to see the whole in supervision and translate this into effective processing flows, as well as identifying digital working methods within your own areas that facilitate contact between citizens and operators.

You enjoy meeting people, have a positive outlook, and possess good collaborative skills with your own drive. To succeed, you need the ability to create clarity and trust in your work. Since the organization consists of a small workgroup, we see that you have a good ability to collaborate, that you are inclusive in work processes, and participate in joint activities.

As an environmental inspector, you should be able to demonstrate a degree in Environmental and Health Protection or another academic qualification that the employer deems appropriate. Since the work requires experience, we want you to have at least three years of documented work experience in environmental and health protection, good knowledge of applicable legislation and case law in the field, as well as experience in authority exercise. You should be self-sufficient and able to structure your work independently.

Since a large part of the work consists of inspections, a B driver's license is required.
